Which best describes your view of Molokai?

there are opportunities for self-starters. everyone can make or fix something, or serve someone with something. we can tap into our talents and collectively produce food products, get a website and sell fine products throughout the world. as for me, i sew and make jewelry, accommodate visitors, hubby can do welding, our friend paints and fixes things, another helps people with computers. we need to network. people shouldn't have to go to maui to get things done.

Opening the KaluaKoi Hotel would be a great start. Probably 50 to 70 new jobs. NOT counting the 50 or more jobs in reconstruction and remodeling the hotel.

If you voted that we need more jobs, Im interested to know what kinds of jobs Molokaians desire. Can you help me by posting your interests or areas of skill, so we can help influence decision makers, investors and educators in helping to create a desirable job market. I see that the lodge is constantly trying to hire waithelp, housekeeping, kitchen staff, etc, and those positions never fill up. I see the Workforce Development Division postings and see a variety of jobs coming up now and then...but where can we improve? I want to help create a place where everyone who lives here, who calls Molokai their ONE HANAU, can have a job that they love and pays enough that they can afford to stay and raise their families here. Lets try to make Molokai the Molokai we want it, while protecting the things we already love about it! (=
